Capturing 10Q’s with the Captivating Amina Taha


Amina Taha, no introduction needed in the yogi world. Here at Yogini Republic, if there is one Instagram BEAUTY worthy of obsessing over, it would definitely be Amina, hands down. We love the way her journey and love for yoga is captured through her graceful sultry movements and her pictures are just captivating. Amina continues to share her love for yoga through teaching workshops worldwide and online classes on . We had a quick  10Q interview with Amina about her practice, lifestyle and inspirational bits & pieces  in today’s #YRliving featured post.

I like to go with the natural twists and turns of life – Amina Taha

1. Describe the moment you realized that Yoga will be a significant part of your life.

During the first yoga class I ever attended, I think I realized that I am intrigued and deeply drawn to it. I wouldn’t say I knew it would be a significant part of my life – but I just felt very inspired and content being in that room.

2. Walk us through your daily practice.

Honestly it’s so different from day to day! I usually start off with a short pranayama, and then I move into warming up my fingers, toes, wrists, ankles, spine… then I do whatever I’m feeling!

3. Who is your Yogi crush at the moment?

It’s definitely @yogoskenz. She makes me feel like I can do anything! With three kids, her own business and her own beautiful practice, she is evidence that you can make time to do what you love. I have a newfound admiration for all the beautiful yoga moms that I follow… especially the ones that have carried through with their practice during pregnancy! It’s inspiring to see.

4. Favourite mantra you live by?

It changes from phase to phase, but currently it is:
Trust and surrender.

5. What is your favourite Asana and why?

Its hard to choose a favorite since it changes day to day. Today it is plank pose, because I appreciate strengthening postures at the moment when my body feels like it’s getting softer everyday!

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

No idea! But hopefully teaching yoga around the world, spending time with my family, learning new things… I don’t plan much and I like to go with the natural twists and turns of life!

Describe yourself in 3 words.

That changes daily – the ones for today I’d say are: passionate, truthful and fiery.

It’s so hard to choose. I’ll go with an older one, when I saw my husband for the first time.

8. Any advice you can offer to new yogis?

Practice daily! Let go of any expectations and allow the beauty of this practice to surprise you 🙂

9. How has pregnancy changed your practice and yourself in general?

It has strengthened my appreciation for practice and movement. It has definitely led me to being more mindful, and attentive to how everything FEELS. It has also taken me on a complete new journey of what it means to trust your body and yourself.

  1. Wow her poses are so spectacular. Plus the practices she does daily are very versatile and spontaneous. Which gives me an idea I shouldn’t be hard on my self. If I feel like joining yoga 101, or HIIT workout , or any of the yoginirepublic programs I just need to book and go for it. I shall say good bye boredom. Thank you.
